I am the owner of a cosmetic line designed to be 'clean' - on that front we are now testing for organic fluorine ( PFAS) and working with BCIT to develop accessible and standard testing for Canadian personal care companies - it is easy to think that cosmetics are not an industry but it is HUGE and it has served the status quo to not be recognized as it dumps toxins banned in Europe into NA goods. PFAS are also found in a lot of plastic packaging - and discarded can leach into our ground for 10 years - we are at the forefront of this research. We are also applying for an alliance grant with BCIT to further research for 3-5 years and our part in that will be the social amplification of the journey to pfas free. Our vegan mascara has tested Non detect 10ppm for tube, applicator, brush and formula.
